Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

BookOnTheMap is a product of ZIZWE IT LIMITED ("we", "us"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we handle and why. Questions: support@zizweit.uk.

Two kinds of people, two roles

Businesses who sign up (the salon, barber, groomer, etc.): for them we are the data controller. Customers who book an appointment: their details (name, phone, booking notes) are collected on behalf of the business they're booking with — that business is the controller of its own customer data, and we act as its processor, providing the booking tool.

What we collect

From businesses: email address, a password (stored hashed), and the business details you enter — name, phone, address, timezone, services, opening hours, and photos. Payment is handled by Stripe; we store only a Stripe customer/subscription reference, never your card number.

From customers: the name, mobile number, an optional email address (used to send your booking confirmation), and any booking details you provide when you book, plus the appointment time and service. We do not take payment from customers.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

To provide the booking service and the account you asked for (performance of a contract), to send appointment reminders on a business's behalf where the customer agreed at booking (consent, which they can withdraw), to take subscription payments, and to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).

Who processes it for us

We use trusted providers strictly to run the service: Supabase (database, login, photo storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (subscription payments),Twilio (sending SMS reminders), Resend (sending confirmation and account emails), Cloudflare (anti-bot checks on the booking form), Upstash(rate limiting to prevent abuse), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each only receives the data needed for its task.

Retention

Account and booking data is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal and accounting purposes, then deleted. A business can permanently delete its account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account, which also cancels any subscription; customers can ask the business (or us) to delete their booking details.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or object to certain processing. Customers should contact the business they booked with first; businesses (and customers who can't reach a business) can contact us at support@zizweit.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and local browser storage to remember small preferences. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a token to verify booking requests are genuine. We do not use advertising cookies.
